KSAC to address stagnant water issue in three weeks

The Kingston and St Andrew Corporation (KSAC) says it will be moving to address the problem of the stagnant water with an overbearing stench in a section of downtown Kingston. 

For more than two weeks, the water, which has settled at the intersection of West Queen Street and Orange Street has been causing discomfort for commuters and vendors

Town Clerk, Robert Hill, told The Gleaner that the problem will be fixed within three weeks.

He also said there was no previous report about this issue.

Earlier today, one vendor, Ann-Marie Palmer, said the water has been creating a stink for almost a month despite pleas for help to the National Water Commission and the KSAC.

Another vendor, who declined to give his name, said school children were the worst affected.

Some vendors have also reported that their goods have been damaged from splashes created when vehicles travel at the intersection.
