Press Association condemns Warmington's actions against Gleaner intern
South West St Catherine Member of Parliament Everald Warmington is this evening drawing strong condemnation from the Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ) for his assault on a Gleaner photo-journalist yesterday.
Warmington has apologised for his actions, which came as he and other Opposition parliamentarians converged on the Jamaica Labour Party’s St Andrew headquarters for a crucial meeting.

After assaulting the Gleaner intern, the veteran lawmaker unleashed an expletive-laced tirade that was directed at other journalists.
In a statement today, President of the PAJ Dionne Jackson Miller said Warmington’s apology has very little impact given that his conduct yesterday was the latest in a series of boorish, vulgar and loutish behaviour towards members of the media.
Jackson Miller says media practitioners are fully aware that they will often encounter opposition while trying to do their jobs, but asserts that the behaviour of the South West St Catherine MP, as described, went beyond what is acceptable.
