The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Paula Llewellyn says an organisational review of her office is expected to be completed by December.

She told The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre that the review, requested by her, has been ongoing since last year.

The review is being carried out by the Office of the Cabinet.

The DPP says the review is timely as her office has taken on added responsibilities since it was established in 1962.

Llewellyn has consistently complained that insufficient resources have been affecting the efficiency of her office.

The review comes amid suggestions by the Justice Minister Mark Golding that the DPP’s office may be in need of term limits.

CORRECTION: Earlier, this story said Golding had made the call for an oversight for the DPP. That was incorrect, his suggestion was actually for term limits.
