Four St George's College old boys to get the Monsignor Gladstone Wilson award

The St George's College Old Boy's Association has announced that four old boys of St George's College - Dr Fred Kennedy, Dennis Lawton, Bruce Lyn and Philip Wong - are to receive the Monsignor Gladstone Wilson Award for their contribution to the advancement of the school and the association.

The award, according to the association, is presented biennially to worthy old boys who have, in their lifetime, contributed in a significant way their time, talent and resources over the years for the advancement of the association and or the school. These old boys must also have contributed on the national or international stage.

The award is named in honour of Monsignor Gladstone Wilson, who graduated from St George's College more than 90 years ago. Monsignor Wilson excelled beyond expectations academically, persevered in reaching the pinnacle of his career, while serving his alma mater, the community and the country which gave him the opportunity to realise his potential. He was considered one of the seven most-learned persons in the world at the time of his death in 1974.

This year, the awards will be held at the Mona Visitor's Lodge, University of the West Indies, tomorrow.
