Only 5 days remaining for NWC amnesty
Indebted customers of the National Water Commission (NWC) have another five days to take advantage of the utility company’s debt write-off initiative.
Under this phase of what is being called the Cruncher 180 Promotion, persons with outstanding balances for more than 180 days have until September 30 to benefit from a 40 per cent write-off.
The NWC has extended opening hours at several locations to facilitate these payments.
The Cruncher 180 Promotion targets active and disconnected water accounts, as well as illegally connected water consumers.
The NWC is appealing to persons to visit the commission and make arrangements to settle their balances.
It warns that failure to do so could result in disconnection from the commission’s sewer network, court action which could result in sale of property, arrest and the execution of bailiff activities.
