The PNP's candidate for the NE St Elizabeth constituency Evon Redman and supporters.

Businessman Evon Redman is calling for unity among People’s National Party (PNP) supporters in North East St Elizabeth.

The call came after delegates voted overwhelmingly yesterday to endorse his bid to replace incumbent member of parliament for the constituency, Raymond Pryce.

Three hundred and thirty nine of the 469 eligible delegates voted in favour of Redman, while 127 voted to reject his candidacy.

Speaking after the vote, the candidate extended an olive branch to those persons who did not support him, saying their support will be needed to help build the constituency.
