The St Catherine man who robbed a female prosecutor at the Spanish Town courthouse last month is to be sentenced on November 23.

Twenty-two-year-old Christopher Burton, who is of a Spanish Town address, has pleaded guilty to a charge of simple larceny.

Burton was remanded until sentencing by Resident Magistrate Tara Reid-Carr.

Allegations are that on September 22, the complainant, who is a Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, went to work at the Spanish Town courthouse when a man walked up and accosted the prosecutor and then demanded money.

The man, who had on a mask, was given $100.

He ran from the compound.

A report was made to the police and following an investigation, Burton was picked up by the police on October 5 after he was seen begging at the courthouse.
