$500,000 reward for info on missing photographer, cousin unclaimed

Head of Crime Stop Jamaica, Prudence Gentles, says no one has come forward to take up the $500,000 reward for information which could lead to the return popular photographer Niketa Thomas and his cousin, Dwight Brown.

The reward was offered more than a week ago.

Thirty-seven-year-old Thomas, who operated Nickfotoworks, and 42-year-old Brown have been missing since Monday, October 5.

They were last seen in Cassia Park in St Andrew.

Gentles is appealing to Jamaicans to join the cause in locating the men.

Meanwhile, she says the $300,000 reward remains uncollected in relation to the fire at the Riverton Landfill in St Andrew.

The offer was made in April for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in starting the fire at the dump.

The police had said that the massive fire, which covered more than 100 acres, was set by arsonists.

The Crime Stop head says the agency is still hopeful that someone will come forward with information.

The March fire at Riverton lasted for about two weeks and impacted several parishes.

The blaze also forced the delay of the sitting of this year’s Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT).
