Corporate Hands: Pepsi gives back to schools
Pepsi-Cola Jamaica has financially assisted a number of schools by contributing a total of $1 million through the Pepsi School Celebration promotion.
The promotion began in February, and for each month, a school was selected and awarded a cheque for $200,000. For every 10 cases of any Pepsi product purchased over the schools' monthly target, they were entitled to an entry in the promotion.
To date, four secondary schools and one primary school have benefited from the promotion. They are Clarendon College, St Hugh's, Ardenne and Eltham high schools, and Pembroke Hall Primary.
Clarendon College will use their funds to support the school's Rainwater Harvesting Project. St Hugh's High will use theirs to provide additional seating at the school's canteen. Eltham High plans to use its funds to purchase equipment for the school's information technology labs, while Ardenne High's funds will be used to construct a gazebo at the school. Pembroke Hall Primary School plans to build an overpass and secure the upper floors at the school.
