Police Commissioner condemns killing of UTech student
Commissioner of Police, Dr Carl Williams, is condemning the shooting death of a female university student last night.
Reports from Matilda's Corner Police are that about 7 o‘clock Shanique Walters and a friend were walking home in the Hope Pastures community when they were approached by an unknown vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle reportedly brandished a firearm and demanded money.
When the demands were not met, he opened fire, hitting Walters.
The other female was unharmed.
Walters died while undergoing treatment at hospital.

Williams has described the attack as senseless and brutal.
He also condemned the killing of a one-year-old child and his father in St James on Tuesday night.
According to Williams the police are committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice.
