An attorney-at-law is to face the courts next week after being charged with fraudulent conversion.

Fifty-five-year-old Laverne George, of Diamond Road, Stony Hill, St Andrew was arrested and charged yesterday by detectives attached to the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC).

The police say George was reportedly contracted in 2013 to conduct transactions involving the sale of land on behalf of the complainant.

It is alleged that George failed to pay over the total sum of money from the sale to the complainant.

A report was made to the Police, an investigation launched and she was subsequently arrested and charged.

George is expected to appear before the Half-Way Tree Resident Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
