Labourites rock to the gospel beat in Old Harbour

 Labourites are at this hour rocking to the beat of old gospel rhythms as they await the arrival of senior Jamaica Labour Party JLP functionaries on the party’s stomping ground of Old Harbour in South West St Catherine.

It's expected to be more song and dance than talking on the political platform this evening.

Tough talking, Everald Warrington, the Member of Parliament for St Catherine South West since 2002, is hosting all 63 candidates of the JLP at a gospel concert on his property in the Old Harbour township.

It’s not the typical mass rally, however, in which speakers will take it to the rival People’s National Party (PNP).

The stage has been set, but for gospel artistes to parade their talents as the party seeks to wind down its political campaign for 2016.

Led by JLP leader and West Central St Andrew Member of Parliament, Andrew Holness, the 63 standard bearers of the JLP will be presented.

Although the formal session is yet to get underway, candidates from as far as Eastern Hanover and Westmoreland are among the growing mass of green-clad JLP supporters.

Holness is expected sound the battle cry to the cadre of JLP candidates, seeking to unseat the PNP in the impending polls.
