Two killed, six hospitalised in the last 48 hours

Two people have been killed and six others injured in separate incidents in road crashes in two parishes in the past 48 hours.
Twenty-six-year-old Roshard Reid died early this morning after his Toyota Wish motorcar crashed into a tree on along the May Day main road in Manchester.
Reid who was driving at the time and believed to be speeding lost control of the vehicle which hit the tree and landed over a fence.
He died on the spot while three of the five passengers in the vehicle were admitted in hospital in serious condition.
This adds to a total of six persons hospitalised since yesterday as three persons were admitted following a crash on the Manchester road.
Also this morning, 36-year-old Ethrine Edwards, a bartender of Farmers Heights, St Ann died following collision on the Llandovery main road in St Ann.
The police say about five o'clock Edwards was driving along the roadway when he lost control of the motor vehicle and drifted off into bushes where he hit a tree.
He was later pronounced dead at hospital.
The police are urging drivers to be responsible on the road, avoid driving when intoxicated and taking extra caution during the rainy periods and early mornings when the roads are less congested.
