Actor Taye Diggs promotes books, lauds local Junior Achievement project

American actor and author, Taye Diggs, who is in Jamaica promoting his children’s books 'Mixed Me' and 'Chocolate Me', toured the Ja Biztown facilities today.

American actor and author, Taye Diggs, who came to fame after he made his film debut in 'How Stella Got Her Groove Back', has sung the praises of Ja Biztown, the Junior Achievement project which exposes students to real life business.

Diggs, who is in Jamaica promoting his children’s books Mixed Me and Chocolate Me, toured the facilities and was clearly impressed by the project.

“I am thankful for the opportunity to see this beautiful country and this wonderful production,” he said while speaking after the tour.

The actor says he will be trying to influence people in the United States to embark on a similar project in that country.

“I wish that there was something like this even now, I would sign up because these kids know so much more now and I think it's a really great step and I think a child’s progression in maturity in this day and age when you just need to know a lot more about everything,” he said.

Diggs will be in Jamaica until Friday and says he is currently working on two additional books.
