It was christened Three, the Hard Way at the start, so the fundraiser hosted by the executives of the Calabar, Jamaica College (JC) and Kingston College (KC) old boys' associations is this year hoping to surpass the fun for its patrons and their guests. The funds raised will be split among the three schools for various projects aimed at improving the educational offerings available.

As Dr Patrick Dallas, president of KC Old Boys Association; David Miller of Calabar Old Boys' Association and Collin Greenland, treasurer of JC Old Boys' Association, told The Gleaner during an interview at North Street last week that the retro party is set for March 12, at the JC Auditorium. Unlike last year when it was executed in just three weeks, the three executives have had a year to fine-tune things and they are expecting to build on the goodwill that was established last year.

"The party will set the tone for the friendly rivalry expected at Champs the following week," said Dr Patrick Dallas. Along with Miller and Greenland, the dream is that Three, the Hard Way will become a calendar event that will entice past students from all over the world to attend annually.

Naturally, all three selectors are past students of the schools. Rory from Stone Love will be doing the honours for Calabar. On the turntable for KC will be Kurt Riley of FAME FM, while Arif Cooper will keep things rocking for JC. Tickets for the event can be obtained by contacting the various old boys' associations.
