Detectives attached to the Narcotics Division yesterday seized ganja valued at more than J$2 million along the Goshen main road in St Elizabeth.
The police say about 8:30 p.m. yesterday a team was on patrol along the roadway when they signalled the driver of a motor vehicle to stop. He complied and a search was reportedly carried out.
The police say nine knitted bags containing approximately 450 pounds of compressed ganja with an estimated street value of J$2.3 million were seized.
The driver was subsequently arrested. His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
