St Catherine mechanic charged with fraudulent conversion
A 49-year-old mechanic is to face the courts next month after he failed to handover money, earned from operating taxis, to its owner.
Adolph Allen, from Greater Portmore in St Catherine was charged with fraudulent conversion on Wednesday by police attached to the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch.
He is scheduled to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on February 15.
The police say between September and October 2014, Allen was paid CAD$33,170 by the complainant to purchase two motor vehicles to be operated as taxis.
Allen reportedly purchased the vehicles, registered them in his name, operated them as taxis, but refused to handover the money earned from his operations to the complainant.
