Ivan Anderson confident of win over Lisa Hanna
Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate for South East St Ann, Ivan Anderson says he is confident of defeating the incumbent Member of Parliament, the People’s National Party (PNP's) Lisa Hanna in the general election later this month.
Speaking to The Gleaner/ Power 106 News Centre after a short tour of St Ann by the four JLP candidates along with deputy leader Audley Shaw, Anderson said he was doing the ground work.
While the former member of the PNP says the preparations in the constituency have been going well, Anderson says he knows more hardwork is required.
The constituency has been a PNP stronghold for decades, having been held in the past by Seymour Mullings and Aloun Assamba, before Hanna.
Last year Hanna had to beat off a challenge from Councillor for the Bensonton division, Lydia Richards, who wanted to be the party's representative in the elections.
The four o’clock tour began in Monegaue and journeyed through Golden Grove, Claremont and Lime Hall before breezing through St Ann’s Bay and Priory.
The planned stop in St Ann’s Bay was cancelled as the tour was said to be behind schedule.
