Director of Elections, Orette Fisher, makes a point to Dorothy Pine-McLarty, chairman of the Electoral Commission of Jamaica (ECJ), during a press conference held today at the ECJ's St Andrew office.

The Electoral Office of Jamaica is seeking permission to have nearly 1,000 schools closed at midday on February 24, the day before the general election.

The ECJ says the names of the schools have been sent to the Education Ministry which will give the final approval.
