I had to vote, says 99-year-old woman

Ninety-nine-year-old Agatha White of Brontie, Manchester, would not have slept well last night had she not cast her vote. Despite her hearing impediment, arthritis, mobility issues, heart problems, and high blood pressure, she made her way to the Christiana High School in Manchester North Eastern to exercise her franchise.
"Me haffi come vote, man. Me vote every election, and this year, it special fi me 'cause me want dat man fi come een. Me did haffi come, man," she told The Gleaner.
Our news team also caught up with 70-year-old Brinsley Brown, a returning resident from Clifton Gardens in the parish, who was present at the polling station at deCarteret College with his wife to vote.
Brown, who returned home 13 years ago, said that this was the first time he had got the opportunity to vote and he was pleased to exercise his democratic right.
"The country needs a fresh start. The country is upside down, and the unemployment level among the youth is too high. They either go to university, come out and can't get a job, or they can't enter school to get a skill because the proper provision is not made ... ," he said.
Having lived in England for a significant part of his life, the returning resident hopes that his vote can make a difference, and the constituency and, by extension, the country can see marked improvement.
