Electoral officials say seat count remains at JLP - 32, PNP - 31
The Electoral Office of Jamaica has released a statement saying following Thursday's General Election, it has completed the official ballot count in 40 of 63 constituencies.
And according to the Commission, the official seat count is now: the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) - 32; and the People's National Party (PNP) - 31.
The only seat change was recorded in St Mary South Eastern where the PNP's Dr Winston Green regained the seat with a nine-vote majority over the JLP's Dr Norman Dunn.
The Electoral Commission will hold a press conference on Monday morning at 11 o'clock.
Earlier, the JLP also issued a statement dispelling rumours that it had lost the general election.
It said even with the reported loss of the St Mary South Eastern seat, it still has the majority needed to form the Government and it was certain of retaking the constituency after a magisterial recount.
