Thirty-eight-year-old medical doctor, Mark Gray, today appeared in the Mandeville Resident Magistrate’s Court on a charge of sexually molesting a 12-year-old girl.

The girl was reportedly a patient at the hospital where he works.

Resident Magistrate Desiree Alleyne offered Gray $200,000 bail with a surety following an application by attorney-at-law Hensley Williams.

Gray is charged with three counts of sexual assault.

The Crown is alleging that the girl was impregnated on three occasions and the pregnancies were aborted.

The offences allegedly took place in 2014 and 2015.

She was 12 years old at the time of the alleged incidents.

In making the bail application, Williams said there was no forensic evidence or witness to support the allegations.

The attorney argued that the girl suffers from a mental condition and that his client denies the allegations.

Gray is to return to court on May 4 when the case will be mentioned.
