Corporates catch Labour Day fever

Labour Day activities have evolved from community members putting work into the day to the present when politicised (green and orange) clans perform for the cameras.

When the late former Prime Minister Michael Manley called on Jamaicans to work rather than simply observe the holiday, which honoured the nation's labour heroes, community members were the ones who did all the work on various projects.

But as was the case this year, a look at the pictures submitted suggests that the occasion has become a corporate workday.

So on Monday, company executives donned their branded wardrobe and posed with their work tools as they took breaks from weeding, digging, planting, painting, cleaning, landscaping and generally beautifying their communities.
