Gary Spaulding was found dead on Monday afternoon at his home in St Andrew.

The managing director of The Gleaner Company (Media) Limited, Christopher Barnes, has reacted with shock at the death of Senior Journalist Gary Spaulding.

Barnes says Spaulding's death has intensified the grief already being felt by Friday's death of another Gleaner employee and veteran journalist, Glenroy Sinclair.

He says the company is continuing to provide counselling to employees affected by both deaths.

In the meantime, President of the Press Association of Jamaica, Dionne Jackson Miller, says Spaulding’s death is a tremendous loss to the journalism community.

According to Jackson Miller, Spaulding had an extensive knowledge of political and parliamentary affairs, was a hard worker and was supportive of colleagues.
