UPDATE: Manchester corruption probe could extend to two bank workers

Police detectives could be expanding their investigations in a massive forgery and corruption case at the Manchester Parish Council to two employees of two commercial banks in the central Jamaica parish capital Mandeville.
The director of the investigations at the Major Organised and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA), Superintendent Cleon March could not be reached for a comment last night.
However, one source close to the matter has revealed that the two bank employees may be implicated in what the police say is a wide-scale probe.
In a statement last week, MOCA said a series of raids in Manchester and Clarendon and the arrest of two people in the forgery and corruption probe was just "the tip of the iceberg".
Early Friday morning, MOCA detectives as well as representatives of the Financial Investigation Division and Office of the Contactor General carried out a joint operation at several Clarendon and Manchester locations including the Manchester Parish Council.
The police say there were several searches and seizures of documents and electronic devices.
The police also confiscated more than $1.6 million is cash and thousands of United States dollars.
Two people, including the deputy superintendent of roads and works at the Manchester Parish Council have been arrested and are to be questioned in the presence of their lawyer today.
