LASCO Boosts Ballaz
Local manufacturing giant LASCO Manufacturing has invested more than $5 million in a two-year sponsorship to Ballaz International to facilitate youth-development programmes.
LASCO's marketing manager Catherine Goodall shared that the company takes pride in aiding the enhancement of the youth, and partnering with an initiative like the Ballaz programme gives the company another avenue to do just that.
"Ballaz is a rounded programme that helps with not only the physical development, but also the social, mental, and spiritual development of their players. We are honoured to be able to facilitate this process through financial support, scholarships, and, of course, through helping to provide great nutrition for the players with our brands LASCO Food Drink, which is high in protein, calcium and other nutrients, and our LASCO Oats porridge," she said.
The new turf field unveiled at Liberty Park on Wednesday June 26 will be the venue for the Ballaz Summer Camp. Registration is now open for children three years to 11 years old.
PLACE OF FREEDOM
The facility is for adults and youth alike, however, given Ballaz particular focus on youth, it is hoped that young people will find a home at Liberty Park - a place of fun freedom and family. Children with varying intellectual and physical abilities will also find a place of freedom to run, play, and develop their unique abilities.
Since its inception in 2003, approximately 400 youngsters have participated in one or more Ballaz programmes - whether summer camps, player-development programmes, girl clinics, or community-based outreach initiatives annually.
Coaches and tertiary-level students have also benefitted from the programme through mentorship, sports leadership, development training, or league coordination and management.
