Guardsman Alarms Gets New MD
At age 36, Andre McLean has had an illustrious career, stacking myriad accolades that have now propelled him to yet another significant achievement as managing director of Guardsman Alarms Limited, a member of the Guardsman Group.
McLean's objective has always been to remain positive in life and to give persons the opportunity to excel above their expectations. Through hard work and diligence, McLean has risen through the ranks of the Guardsman Group with his previous appointment being general manager, Overseas Markets, an appointment title that was later changed to CEO - International Division.
KEEPING JAMAICA SAFE
"I really want to contribute directly to the development of the Jamaican product as Guardsman tries its best to keep the country safe. I want to ensure that we take back the country from the hands of the criminal elements that continue to make the lives of our citizens very uncomfortable," McLean said.
Several years after being recommended for a position at Guardsman Group as a senior accountant, and after several appointments including chief accountant, group chief accountant, group finance manager and group financial controller, McLean is now booming with confidence as he settles into this new role.
"The Guardsman Group continues to recognise talent and the persons who have the ability and skills to bring them into the future. I am grateful to be given this opportunity and will endeavour to ensure we work diligently to keep our country safe," McLean said.
Despite the advances in technology that can assist in keeping persons safe, McLean is also encouraging Jamaicans to also make the extra effort to protect themselves. "There are no guarantees of personal safety in any environment. It is also incumbent upon each individual to safeguard him/herself against becoming the victim of a crime," he said.
Track record
McLean, who has been instrumental in the acquisition and development of Orkin Franchise operations in Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Island, has also led business development across the region and has maintained a solid network of contacts in the Eastern Caribbean.
"You can never get rid of the man standing at the door. But with more technologically advanced solutions offered by Guardsman Alarms and by extension the Guardsman Group, in the hands of the people, we can help to make persons feel more at ease," McLean added.
With more than 32 years as the pioneers in computerised monitoring systems in the industry in Jamaica, Guardsman Alarms, previously Brinks Alarms Limited, has over the years been serving Jamaica with 24-hour monitoring and response services for homes and businesses.
Guardsman Alarms provides a range of security alarm systems, including vehicle tracking, burglary alarms, panic systems, closed-circuit television, digital two-way radios, and access control systems to meet the myriad needs of their clients.
With a head office in Kingston and branches located in Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, and Mandeville, McLean said they can safely reassure Jamaicans islandwide that they are always protected and never alone.
