AMCHAM highlights data, document security

In today's technological era, fake products have flooded the market, impacting people's lives, and in some cases, even killing them. This was among the issues discussed at the recent American Chamber of Commerce (Jamaica) Presidents' Breakfast held at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel under the theme, Data and Document Security.

Panellist, Francis Boateng from Mid-Atlantic Investments and Mobility Technologies from Ghana, noted that in Africa, fake pharmaceutical products have endangered the lives of many, hence government and companies have taken security measures regarding products and documents, etc.

Hague Ambassador out of the United Kingdom, Brian McGrath, echoed the sentiments, but emphasised that drugs were not the only products that have fallen prey to criminals. He noted that paintings, car parts and alcohol have become prevalent and have placed people's lives in danger.
