NHT working to give diaspora Trust access

Jamaicans living overseas will soon have an opportunity to purchase homes in Jamaica through the National Housing Trust (NHT).

Chairman of the NHT, Ambassador Dr Nigel Clarke, says members of the Jamaican diaspora have been inquiring about how they can access a home through the Trust.

He says the NHT is now working on a programme which will give members of the diaspora an opportunity to own a home in Jamaica.

He says under the programme being developed, borrowers living in the diaspora will have to contribute to the Trust.

Ambassador Clarke was addressing a recent town hall meeting in New York.
