Member of Parliament for St Andrew South East Julian Robinson took over as general secretary of the People's National Party (PNP) on Sunday, promising to lead a secretariat that is fair and impartial.
Robinson replaces Paul Burke, who served as PNP general secretary for the past three years.
He said his team will focus on people, processes and policies.
Robinson said he wants to ensure that the PNP's processes are in line with first world standards.
In addition, he said the policies developed by the party must be to uplift quality of life for all Jamaicans.
"There is much work to be done," he acknowledged.
Robinson said early in the new year he will outline more of the organisational priorities his team will pursue.
