Police High Command reminds of extreme threat level as it condemns killing of policeman

The Police High Command is reminding the police force that the threat level against them is extreme as it condemns and expresses outrage at the killing of another member this morning.

Thirty one-year-old Kemoi Miller, who was attached to the Kingston Eastern Division, was found with gunshot wounds to the head and back on Maxfield Avenue.

Reports are that about 1:00 a.m. residents heard loud explosions and called the police, who on arrival, found Miller slumped over the steering wheel of the car he was driving. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

"Members are also being urged to be alert at all times, especially off-duty and to take whatever legal actions necessary to protect themselves, colleagues and their families," the police high command advised in a release issued via its Corporate Communications Unit this afternoon.

Detectives from the Kingston Western Division are probing their colleagues death.
