Hanover teen fatally stabbed by companion

A Hanover teenager is now dead after reportedly being stabbed by her boyfriend early this morning.

The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Shantea Thelwell, of Wells Lane in Sandy Bay, Hanover.

The police Corporate Communications Unit says Thelwell was killed at her home about 1:45 this morning.

The police say she was at home with her companion when they had a dispute and he allegedly stabbed her in the chest with a knife. She was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The police say the companion has not yet been apprehended.
