Cops seize ganja worth J$1.5m on Christmas Eve

Two hundred and fifty pounds of compressed ganja valued at about J$1.5 million were seized by the police in St Elizabeth on Christmas Eve.
According to the police's Corporate Communication Unit, the ganja was seized on the Pedro Plains about 12:45 a.m. yesterday.
The police say they were in the area when a group of men were seen loading parcels onto a vessel. When the men saw the police they ran leaving the parcels behind. Upon inspection the parcels were discovered to be five knitted bags containing compressed ganja.
No arrests were made.
