Government spending to jump by almost 20% 2017-2018

The Government is proposing to spend nearly $710 billion for fiscal year 2017/2018, a 19.8 per cent increase over the $592.7 billion it spent for the 2016/2017 financial year.

The Estimates of Expenditure shows that the administration plans to increase its spending by $117.2 billion for the new fiscal year.
