The Ministry of Justice is reporting that it has acquired and renovated a property located at 119A Maxfield Avenue to house the Coroner’s and Special Coroner’s Courts.

The Ministry says the facility will be formally handed over at a ceremony on Wednesday.

It says the relocation of the Courts is part of the Ministry’s thrust to modernise the physical infrastructure of Justice Institutions and is a key priority under the Justice Reform Implementation Plan.

The Justice Ministry notes that approximately $349 million have been earmarked this year for repair and maintenance of Courthouses, and a further $267 million for the construction and implementation of the Justice Sector Reform Programme that addresses infrastructure development.
