In times like this, it is good to remember the love that the Lord has for us. "Do you love?" "I love you, Lord." "Do You really love Me?" "Yes, Lord, You know that I love You", "Are you sure that you love Me?" I answer, "There is nothing else I'm more sure of." "Let me carry you in my arms," says the Lord.

Sometimes, when we carry a burden for days, months, a year and there is a heaviness in our lives, we find that those simple words fall from our lips. "Lord, I love You, do you love me?" Despite the pain, the burden of existence, the problems of life, we find the words "Do You love me? I love You." It is so true that the Lord keeps those who love Him close to Himself despite the barrier of our human pain and even the seeming futility of our life.

We need the Lord, brothers and sisters. He is there, though sometimes He seems absent. The Scriptures speak of God as having eyes, it is in order to watch over us; as having ears, to hear us, as having hands to defend us. We must allow ourselves to feel His presence though we cannot see Him "I shall carry you in my arms," He says by the mouth of the prophet Isaiah, "I shall caress you upon my knees. As one whom his mother caresses, so will I comfort you." (Is. 66:12-13)

It's so important to develop or keep a sense of His presence. In our times, there is so much atheism, loss of meaning, loneliness, and lack of forgiveness. There is also the sense that there are powers, principalities and powers ruling the world and more so Jamaica. How come there is so much fragmentation of the family? How come people are so uncommitted to each other? How come there is so much pain and confusion in life? There are forces of fear, doubts about everything, controlling powers that seem to rule our world, issuing from a world out of control and without love.

Yet Moses says, "In the desert the Lord your God carried you, as a man carries his child, all along your journey until you arrived at His place." (Dt. 1:31) Again God says in Isaiah, "You shall be nursed with the breast of Kings, and you shall know that I am the Lord your Saviour and Redeemer."

We fall, but we rise again

Thank God for God! Thank God for His fatherly care! The brothers and myself have one assurance, there is a loving God. You also have that assurance, you have a loving God. You will be taken to His heavenly home. He will welcome you if you go the way. Yes, we suffer; yes, we fall; yes we are weak and sinful, but He loves you! He loves you! He loves you! Accept His love. We fall, we rise; we fall, but we rise again.

Our Father will lift you in His arms and take you into His Heavenly home. There you will sit with your brother Christ. There in His heavenly home, He will dine with you. "You spread the table before me in the sight of my foes; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Only goodness and kindness follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever and ever." (Ps. 23)

True. Something dark is happening in our world today. But there is the light of Heaven above, untouched by the forces of evil on Earth.

He is our Lord the God of Heaven and Earth! Keep on the journey. Never stop! He is waiting for you.
