May Pen barber shot in robbery attempt

One man is now nursing gunshot wounds following a robbery at a barber shop in May Pen, Clarendon yesterday.

The injured man has been identified as 28-year-old Romaine Bell otherwise called ‘Fry Eye’ of Smith Lane, Palmer’s Cross, Clarendon.

The police report that about 5:40 yesterday evening a man armed with a firearm entered the Quality Cut Barber Shop on Main Street in May Pen and demanded that persons handover their cellular phones.

Bell reportedly refused to hand over his phone and the gunman opened fire at him.

Bell was hit several times in his lower abdomen and side. He was taken to hospital where he was admitted in a serious condition.

Police are now on the search for the gunman who escaped on foot.
