Some NWC facilities out of operation in St Mary, heavy rains blamed

The National Water Commission (NWC) says heavy rains in St Mary have forced the shutdown of some of its facilities.

The NWC says the Lucky Hill, Salisbury, Castleton, Palmetto Grove and White River facilities in St Mary are currently out of operation due to turbidity and dislocated pipelines.

The agency says the shutdown of the White River facility has also resulted in the closure of the Charles Town, Rose Street and Industry Pen facilities.

As a result, dozens of communities across the parish are currently without water.
