Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett is urging regional stakeholders to diversify their offerings in order to improve the competitiveness of the Caribbean's tourism product.

Addressing the three-day United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Global Conference on Sustainable Growth now under way in Montego Bay, Bartlett said the region must find new ways to unlock new sources of competitiveness to attract new visitors.

According to the Tourism Minister, it is important for the Caribbean to improve its tourism product because international travellers have become far more demanding and have higher expectations of the destinations to which they travel or intend to travel.

The global tourism conference is being hosted by the Jamaican Government in partnership with the UNTWO, the World Bank Group, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
