The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is reporting that over 1,700 cops are still on sick-out.
The JCF says this is a reduction from previous numbers adding that more cops have been returning to normal duties.
Cops across the island have been staying off the job since last week to protest the government’s six per cent wage offer.
The JCF gave the update as it dismissed reports that over 6,000 police personnel had reported sick.
It says the highest number of cops participating in the sickout was 2,730 on Wednesday.
The JCF says this has moved down to 1,712 and continues to go down.
