Body of Serge Island employee fished from river, suspected drowning

The body of a man who is believed to have drowned was yesterday fished from a river in St Thomas. 

He has been identified as 48-year-old Serge Island Dairies employee, Lincoln Taylor of Seaforth.

It is reported that Taylor left work sometime after 1 o'clock in the afternoon and went to the Negro River in the vicinity of Danvers Pen.

He was allegedly seen around 1:30 by a tractor driver who was working along the riverbed. 

According to reports Taylor was seen half-dressed lying on the side of the river and appeared to be asleep.

It is reported that the tractor driver passed the area again after 3 o’clock in the afternoon and saw something floating in the river. 

Upon closer observation he realised it was the body of a man.

The driver allegedly pulled the body out of the water and raised an alarm. 

The police were notified and workers from Serge Island Diaries identified the body.
