Corporate Hands | Food for The Poor assists fishermen

In recognition of his work in helping the Seven Miles Fishing Village in Bull Bay, St Andrew, fishermen present Nakhle Hado (left), Director of Distribution Services and Fishing at Food For The Poor (FFP) with a token of their appreciation during a recognition ceremony for Veteran Fishermen on December 1, 2017. Since 2000, FFP’s Fishing Village Programme has been assisting fishermen to acquire sustainable fishing skills and equipment such as boats, engines and GPS systems as well as food packages. As a result, many fishermen are now able to go to sea as often as they need, thus improving the quantity and quality of their catches. This has had positive impacts on not just the fishermen but their villages and surrounding communities.
