Guardian salutes brokers

As part of its efforts to recognise insurance brokerages that contribute to its ongoing outstanding performance, Guardian Life Limited recently held its annual Broker Awards Ceremony at The Worthington, Spanish Court Hotel, New Kingston.

In addressing the gathering, Eric Hosin, president of Guardian Life Limited, thanked the attendees for their resilience and commitment to the company, and reminded broker partners that the Guardian Life team remains resolute in working with them in providing life and health insurance as well as pension solutions to the marketplace.

"Congratulations to all the winners, and continue to work hard as we continue to make Guardian Life successful. These awards are very important achievements for Guardian Life, as last year was very historic for us. It is through your support that we were able to achieve such success," Hosin said.

For contributing the highest annualised premium income (API) to Guardian's individual life segment, Chancellor Insurance Agency was awarded first place. Caribbean Assurance Brokers was second and Solid Life Insurance and several insurance brokers secured the third-place position.

For the category of broker/agency with a persistency rate of 87.5 per cent and above, Caribbean Assurance Brokers was awarded the top trophy, and Pinnacle Insurance Brokers was recognised as the most improved brokerage house.

Enrico Wright of Caribbean Assurance Brokers took the trophy for the highest individual contribution to API.

In terms of contribution of new API to group health, the contributions of CGM Gallagher Insurance Brokers and Allied Insurance Brokers earned them first and second-place trophies, respectively.

For its contribution of new API to group life, Allied Insurance Brokers repeated its outstanding performance and copped the second-place award, while Genesis Insurance Brokers took the premier, award.

Guardian Life Limited also recognised individual team members of brokerages for their outstanding contribution to the company's performance. Among the specially recognised persons were Odette Barrows-Gordon and Tanya Gordon of CGM Gallagher Insurance Brokers; Michelle Harris of Caribbean Assurance Brokers Limited; Fraser Fontaine and Kong's Stacy Russell; and Milton Daley of Genesis Insurance Brokers Limited.
