The Road Safety Unit (RSU) in the Ministry of Transport and Works is reporting that 42 persons have been killed on the roads since the start of the year.

Figures released by the unit indicate that this resulted from 36 crashes between January and February 21.

It says the number represents a nine per cent reduction in road fatalities, relative to the same period in 2017.

The Road Safety Unit says St Catherine accounted for 31 per cent of road crashes.
