Kingston man charged after $16 million ganja bust
A 25-year-old man is facing several drug charges following the seizure of over 4,000 pounds of ganja, valued at more than $16 million at a container terminal in the Corporate Area Friday.
The police say Ravando Allen of a Kingston address has been charged with possession of, dealing in, transporting and conspiracy to export ganja.
He is to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Wednesday.
It’s reported that security guards on duty at the container terminal were carrying out routine checks when they discovered a shipment that had non-genuine seals and alerted the Narcotics Police.
The police say during a search of the container 37 bags were found with a total of 4,083 pound of compressed ganja.
