Brothers charged for fuel tank ganja bust
The police have charged two brothers aged 19 and 21 years old for the ganja find in a fuel tank truck in Kingsland, Manchester.
Christopher and Jamie Williams, both of Llandilo in Savanna La Mar, Westmoreland, have been charged with possession of ganja, dealing in ganja, taking preparatory steps to export ganja, use of conveyance and conspiracy.
Police reports say a team from the Manchester Police and the Narcotics Division intercepted a fuel tank truck about 10:30 on Monday night.
A search of the truck led to the discovery of seven plastic parcels with ganja in one of the gas tanks on the truck.
A further 32 knitted bags containing compressed ganja weighing just over 1,100 pounds were found in the tank.
This brought the total amount of ganja found to 1,188 pounds, valued at an estimated $4.75 million.
The Williams brothers are scheduled to appear before the Manchester Parish Court next Wednesday.
