Dream Entertainment endorses Food For The Poor 5K Walk/Run
Dream Entertainment Limited has offered its support to the fourth annual staging of Food For The Poor (FFP) Jamaica's 5K Run/Walk by donating one 'dream' home for a family who is desperately in need.
The team recently made the announcement ahead of the fourth staging of the annual charity event, which will start and end at Emancipation Park, St Andrew, on the eve of Mother's Day, May 12.
Since the inception of the charity's 5K Walk/Run, FFP Jamaica has been supported by numerous corporate organisations in their goal of raising funds to construct houses for the poor, desperate and needy in the 14 parishes across the island.
Director of public relations at Dream Entertainment, Kamal Bankay, said his organisation now wants to join in with other corporate bodies because of the difference being made in the lives of thousands of Jamaicans from this initiative.
FFP Jamaica, Executive Director, David Mair was extremely happy when he heard that Dream Entertainment Limited was coming on board.
"On behalf of the family who will be receiving this house and our entire team at Food For The Poor Jamaica, we are extremely grateful. We are also happy and welcoming of those who are willing to give shelter and comfort to Jamaicans who are desperately in need," Mair said.
He added that individuals and groups can also make a difference by registering for the 5K Run/Walk or by donating cash.
"Persons are able to assist in numerous ways, by registering individually or as groups for the race at www.foodforthepoorja.org; by becoming a monthly donor through the National Commercial Bank A/C number 471043885; or by donating the cost to cover half of a house, which will be equally matched by Food For The Poor Florida to cover the construction of one house," Mair said.
