After months of negotiations, which were contentious at times, Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) and the Government will tomorrow May 16, 2018 sign a new wage agreement.

A signing ceremony is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service.

On Friday, the JTA's General Council voted to accept the government's latest wage offer.

The association had indicated that teachers will receive a 16 per cent increase over four years as well as other adjustments in benefits and conditions of service.
