A contractor with the National Water Commission, 36-year-old Benroy Farquharson otherwise called Ezra, was shot and killed at his home in Clarendon last night.

It is reported that about 9 o’clock Farquharson and his girlfriend were inside the premises when they heard voices shouting “police”.

The woman reportedly opened the door to investigate and found men armed with guns.

She attempted to close the door but the men reportedly forced their way into the house and then opened fire hitting Farquharson in the head and upper body.

His girlfriend was not hurt.

Meanwhile, the police are also investigating the early morning murder of 35-year-old Peter Bent who was fatally shot by unknown assailants on Chapelton Road in Farm/Effortville.

Residents reported hearing loud explosions and summoned the police.

The police say Bent was found in the front passenger seat of a motor vehicle with gunshot wounds to the head and upper body.

They further say there were signs that attempts were made to set the car on fire.
