Since 2016, a total of 42 persons have left the employ of the state-owned oil refinery Petrojam, Energy Minister Dr Andrew Wheatley has revealed.
Further, Wheatley has confirmed that the incumbent human resource manager at Petrojam is being paid just over $3 million more than the person who last held the position.
The disclosures were made a short time ago as he responded to a number of questions posed by Central Manchester Member of Parliament Peter Bunting in the House of Representatives.
According to Wheatley, 20 persons left Petrojam in 2016, including 16 who resigned and one who was dismissed.
He said 14 persons left the agency in 2017, including three who resigned and two who retired, while eight persons have departed from the state entity since the start of this year.
The energy minister revealed, too, that the former human resource manager was being paid $9.5 million, compared with the $12.6 million being paid to the current holder of the office.
He explained that the increase was to reflect the expanded functions of the current human resource manager.
